Living with the Not-Yet God
with Ilia Delio, OSF, PhD

Contemporary science has radically changed our understanding of nature and, consequently, our understanding of the God-world relationship. We will consider the God-world as a whole and discuss this whole as the movement of the God-world into the singularity of Jesus, the Christ. Topics will include open and relational theology, God-consciousness, entanglement, complexity and the cosmic mystery of the Christic. We will explore how a new God-world holism can help heal our planet.

Ilia Delio, OSF, PhD is a Franciscan Sister of Washington, DC and American theologian specializing in science and religion, with interests in evolution, physics and neuroscience and the import of these for theology. Ilia currently holds the Josephine C. Connelly Endowed Chair in Theology at Villanova University. Her area of research is Science and Religion with interests in artificial intelligence, evolution, quantum physics and the import of these for Christian doctrine and life. She holds a doctorate in Pharmacology from Rutgers University, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and a doctorate in Historical Theology from Fordham University. She is the author of twenty books including Making All Things New: Catholicity, Cosmology and Consciousness and The Unbearable Wholeness of Being: God, Evolution and the Power of Love, for which she won the 2014 Silver Nautilus Book Award and a 2014 Catholic Press Association Book Award in Faith and Science, Birth of a Dancing Star, recounts her spiritual journey into a new vision of the universe.
