with Michelle Muth, MT-BC

This day-long workshop is for anyone interested in exploring how music, used intentionally, can have a positive effect on our lives and those around us. The program outcomes include:

Engaging with participants with facilitated active music-making with drum and voice
Learning the science of how music and the brain interact and why this is important
Learning and creating tools to help participants “Live Musically” and how that can enhance their lives and those around them

Participants can expect engagement with other retreatants through facilitated music making, discussion and activities.

Michelle Montgomery Muth, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist, drum circle facilitator, and founder of M3 Music Therapy.  She is passionate about music's ability to create positive change to help people connect, engage, and thrive. After years in the corporate world, Michelle made a career change, returning to her first love - music,  resulting in a dual degree in music therapy/music education. This has influenced Michelle’s personal, professional, and musical life. She has experienced firsthand music's ability to create positive change, whether it's stabilizing the gait of someone with Parkinson's Disease or witnessing deep connection in a drum circle amidst strangers. Michelle is a board-certified music therapist with advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) and Early Childhood music therapy. She is a drum circle and HealthRHYTHMS® facilitator having studied with Arthur Hull, Christine Stevens, and Jim Donovan. Michelle holds degrees in music therapy, music education (Slippery Rock University), and piano performance (classically trained pianist) from Gordon College.
