Rabbi Joseph Schonberger is a child of Holocaust survivors, his extended family greatly influenced him to reinforcing his spiritual identity. His Tradition and family have shaped his beliefs that every person has a God given Sacred purpose and meaning in this world and beyond. He grew up in Canada then came to America for higher education in Miami and New York City including Miami Dade Community College, Columbia University and Jewish Theological Seminary. He learned music, psychology, Social Work and was ordained in 1981. Rabbi Joseph studied Sofer/Scribe skills with the late Dr. Eric Ray and The Yoka Rebbe Shlomo Koenig zatzal from whom he received certification. He is certified to do Jewish Divorces – Gittin. Since 1981 he has served two pulpits: Bangor, Maine and Youngstown, Ohio. He has begun a new non-profit Tradition4u with hopes of helping people recognize and actualize their Higher Purpose reinforcing Faith, through learning, fellowship and helping others. He is available for Rabbinic, pastoral and interfaith services. Among other activities and achievements, Rabbi Joseph is proud to work with Father George Balasko in Jewish Christian Studies and Fellowship since 1997.
