Habits and Practices to Nurture Our Health in Mind, Body and Spirit
with
Anne Kertz Kernion

How can we maintain the health of our bodies while nurturing our spirits and minds? Are there specific habits that will allow us to live longer and healthier? The answer is a resounding "Yes!" Often these practices can be blended with our spiritual lives, allowing us to greet each new day with more energy, joy, and gratefulness. Join us as we explore the latest research from Neuroscience and Positive Psychology on sleep, diet, exercise, pain and stress management, breathwork/meditation, awe and nature, relationships, and much more. There will be ample opportunities to discuss and apply these practices.

Anne Kertz Kernion has a BS in Environmental Engineering, Penn State University, 1981; an MA in Theology, Duquesne University, 1990; a Certificate in the Science of Happiness, University of California, Berkeley, 2017; Graduate certificate in Positive Psychology, University of Missouri, 2020. Anne is the owner/artist of Cards by Anne, (cardsbyanne.com) an inspirational greeting card company founded in 1986. For over 10 years, Anne taught courses ranging from Chemistry, Environmental Science, Nutrition to World Religions, and Ethics at two local colleges. Her recent book, “Spiritual Practices for the Brain: Caring for Mind, Body and Soul," was published by Loyola Press in late 2020 and has won numerous awards for the integration of health and spirituality. Currently, Anne is a frequent lecturer and retreat leader, presenting topics that combine neuroscience, positive psychology, and spirituality to groups across the US and Australia. Anne teaches a weekly yoga class and enjoys biking and hiking. She and her husband Jack have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.
